Back at Mistletoe Manor, Edwin, Joy, Arvin, Celeste, and Nick gathered around the library discussing what had transferred since Emily’s arrest.

“If we’re going to solve this case, we need to each have a part in the game,” Edwin addressed the group.

“That’s a great idea,” Nick chimed in, “So, what do we know?”

“Emily keeps insisting it’s all her fault he’s dead. I stopped by to see her in jail and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t seem to get her to retract her statement,” Joy said to the group.

Celeste sighed so hard everyone looked at her.

“I can’t believe she killed him or anyone for that matter. She wouldn’t hurt a fly,” Celeste said sighing again.

“Now then, let’s see if we have all the facts,” Nick interrupted.

Celeste smiled sweetly and nodded waiting for him to continue.

“We know she was found standing next to the body with blood on her hands,” Edwin stated.

“Yes, and her fingerprints were on the murder weapon,” Joy added.

“Could she be covering for someone else?” Celeste asked.

“Who?”

Celeste shrugged her shoulders in response.

“We have found out something rather interesting,” Edwin said as he pointed to Celeste.

“Do tell!”

“First, we stopped at the toy store and overhead a conversation that left us rather shocked,” Edwin said, and they repeated the conversation they’d heard, to their friends.

“Then, we went to Tinsel’s house to see if maybe he was there so we could speak with him, but there was no answer either at the house or on his phone. But right before we were about to leave the two people, we overheard in the store showed up. Guess who they were?”

No one had a clue.

“Tell us already!” Arvin said in frustration.

Edwin smiled.

“Tinsel’s son and granddaughter. They were the ones that were in the store. What was even more interesting was the son’s story – his name is Frederick, about Tinsel behaving strangely and how he hired someone without discussing it with him. I never knew Tinsel had to get approval from his son,” Edwin said with a shrug.

“That doesn’t sound like Tinsel at all. As a matter of fact, I was just in there about a week ago discussing with him a feature story I was working on about his handmade toys. He mentioned that was his pride and joy, and he even showed me the very first handmade toy he made. It’s a wooden train that actually has moving parts. He even laughed because he told me his son insisted on taking that particular toy off his hands. At first, he was confused why his son who never had an interest in the store was all of a sudden wanting that particular toy. Tinsel informed him that he was not going to give him the train just so he could turn around and sell it. Supposedly, the son said it was going to be a surprise for Rose Marie. Tinsel doubted that and I never had a chance to discuss the matter with him again,” Arvin said as he shook his head.
